Contemporary South Opening Friday

What are you giving your mom for Christmas?

I’ll tell you what she’ll love, almost as much as that macaroni necklace you gave her in kindergarten—photos of you! Moms love photos of their families. Take it from me: Not only am I mother, but I am related to several other mothers as well. The deadline for holiday delivery is Dec 15, so schedule so face time with me, stat.

Opening August 6, 2010 . . .

Guess what! Some of The Future’s So Bright will be featured an exhibition at the Raleigh City Museum: Portraits of Raleigh 2. The opening is August 6, 6-9. Live music, food and photos for days. From what I’ve seen of Portraits of Raleigh 1, it should be really great. I can’t wait to see all the other pieces.

Kirby Derby 3000 →

The Future’s So Bright portrait series (see below) was shot at this event. The Kirby Derby is like a super block party. There was a parade. There was racing. There were costumes. There was sweat. Thanks to the Kirby residents and participants for being good sports and lending me a hand even though it was hot as heck and things looked a little tenuous for me. For a few more images go here.
